The Maruti Suzuki A-Star (A-Alto) is a new car developed in India by Maruti Suzuki. It is the next generation ALTO and is to be exported world wide. It has been launched in November 2008. It comes in three models LXI, VXI , ZXI. The initial expected price are 3.46 Lakhs for LXI, 3.74 Lakhs for VXI and 4.11 Lakhs for ZXI.
The Astar has a low centre of gravity and widest track width for better maneuverability and road handling. The alluminium 998cc DOHC KB-series engine with 67s@6200rpm delivers performance and gives the best fuel efficiency. The S-star has a pop up tachometer that gives the sporty edge. The speedometer, digital engine temperature indicator, digital fuel gauge and digital clock not to miss the low ful arning indicator make up a very beautiful console.
